Hangin' with the incomparable Jamie Bernstein talking about a rhythmic/melodic fragment that appears in a piece that her Dad never finished in the early 40s called, "Conch Town," (pronounced Conk Town) the nickname for Boca Raton, Fl. While he was staying there he heard radio broadcasts emanating from Cuba and he subsequently fell in love with all things Latin. He never finished the piece, but years later that melodic/rhythmic fragment became the rhythmic foundation of the song "America" in his masterpiece, West Side Story. Much respect to Maestro LB for the respect he had for our culture and music in all its forms and big ups to my sister from another Mother from the BX's sister borough of Kings (Brooklyn) Janis Siegel, for introducing me to yet another powerful woman in the Multiverse. Now that's what I call, hip!

Visitors to the unique exhibit give their opinion and talk about what they learned from the interactive exhibit about how systemic housing segregation in the city affected communities of color in the Bronx in the 20th century and how the borough is still experiencing those effects today.
